1.0 PRELIMINARY DEFINITIONS & NOMENCLATURE
In rules ke context mein, agar alag se mention na ho toh:
i) "Programme": B.Tech. Degree Programme ka matlab hai.
ii) "Branch": B.Tech. Degree Programme ka specialization ya discipline, jaise Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.
iii) "Course": Theory, practical, laboratory-integrated theory, seminar, internship, project, ya koi aur subject jo semester mein study kiya jata hai, jaise English, Mathematics, Environmental Science, Engineering Graphics, Electronic Devices, etc.
iv) "Institution": B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology.
v) "Academic Council": Institution ka apex body jo academic matters handle karta hai.
vi) "Dean (Academic Affairs)": Institution ke academic rules aur activities ko implement karne ke liye responsible Dean.
vii) "Dean (Student Affairs)": Students ke welfare aur campus mein discipline-related activities ke liye responsible Dean.
viii) "Controller of Examinations": Examinations conduct karne aur results declare karne ke liye responsible official.
ix) "Dean of the School": Us school ke Dean jo department se related hai.
x) "Head of the Department": Concerned department ka head.

a) B.Tech. degree programme ke first semester mein admission ke liye candidates ko 10+2 curriculum ka Higher Secondary Examination pass karna zaroori hai.
B.TECH. DEGREE PROGRAMMES
(Under Choice Based Credit System)
2.1
a) Candidate ko Higher Secondary Examination (10+2 curriculum) pass karna zaroori hai jo appropriate authority dwara prescribed ho ya kisi aur examination ko Institution equivalent maane.
b) Student ne 10+2 level par kam se kam inme se koi teen courses study kiye hone chahiye:
Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, Biology, Informatics Practices, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subjects, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies, ya Entrepreneurship.
Agar student ne Physics, Mathematics aur Chemistry me se koi ya sabhi courses nahi padhe hain, toh usse concerned course(s) ka bridge course karna hoga jo 10+2 level ke knowledge ke equivalent hoga.
2.2
10+2 qualifying examination ke alawa, candidate ko Institution dwara prescribed entrance examination bhi dena hoga. Entrance test candidate ki eligibility ke liye courses par based proficiency check karega jo 10+2 academic stream ke standards par honge.
2.3
Lateral entry category ke through eight-semester B.Tech. programme ke third semester mein admission ke liye candidate ko:
Minimum 3-year / 2-year (Lateral Entry) Diploma kisi bhi Engineering / Technology branch mein pass karna hoga ya
B.Sc. Degree kisi recognized University se pass karna hoga aur 10+2 mein Mathematics subject padha hona chahiye ya
3-year Diploma of Vocation Stream (D.Voc) same ya allied sector mein pass kiya hona chahiye ya Institution dwara equivalent maane gaye kisi aur examination ko clear kiya hona chahiye.

Institution students ke diverse backgrounds ke liye Mathematics, Physics, Engineering Drawing, etc. ke suitable bridge courses offer karega.
2.5
Eligibility criteria jaise marks, number of attempts aur physical fitness Institution dwara regulatory authorities ki guidelines ke anuroop time-to-time prescribe kiye jayenge.

Yeh Regulations neeche diye gaye B.Tech. Degree programmes par applicable hain, jo Engineering aur Technology ke alag-alag branches mein eight semesters mein divided hote hain (per academic year do semesters):

4.0 STRUCTURE OF THE PROGRAMME
4.1
Har programme ka curriculum aur syllabus theory aur practical courses ka combination hota hai, jo neeche diye gaye categories mein divided hai:
i) Basic Science Courses (BSC): Basic science-related subjects.
ii) Humanities and Social Sciences including Management Courses (HSC): Humanities, social sciences aur management ke topics.
iii) Engineering Science Courses (ESC): Engineering science-related courses.
iv) Professional Core Courses (PCC): Programme-specific core courses.
v) Professional Elective Courses (PEC): Programme ke elective courses.
vi) Open Elective Courses (OEC): Open elective subjects.
vii) Laboratory Courses (LC): Practical-based laboratory courses.
viii) Laboratory Integrated Theory Courses (LITC): Theory aur lab ka integrated combination.
ix) Mandatory Courses (MC): Institution dwara required mandatory subjects.
x) Project (PROJ): Project work, seminar aur industry/institution mein internship.
4.1 PROGRAMME COMPONENTS
4.1.1 Mandatory Induction Programme for First-Year Students
Pehle saal ke students ko admission ke baad ek 3-week ka mandatory induction programme attend karna hoga. Ismein physical activities, creative arts, universal human values, literary proficiency modules, eminent speakers ke lectures, local area visits, aur departments/schools ka familiarization shamil hoga.
4.1.2 Personality and Character Development
Sabhi students ko admission ke time neeche diye gaye programmes mein se kisi ek mein enroll karna hoga:

Training activities aur events weekends ya vacation period ke dauraan organize kiye jayenge.
4.1.3 Online Courses for Credit Transfer
Students apne department dwara approved online courses (SWAYAM ke under) pursue kar sakte hain, jo ek semester ke courses ke 20% tak ke credits transfer kar sakte hain (project semester exclude hoga). Head of Department aur Dean (Academic Affairs) ki approval ke saath hi online courses allowed hain. Yeh credits core aur elective courses ke liye consider kiye ja sakte hain.
4.1.4 Value-Added Courses
Students department dwara approved value-added courses pursue kar sakte hain. In courses ke syllabus, schedule aur faculty ka approval Dean (Academic Affairs) se lena zaroori hoga. Yeh additional courses student ke consolidated marksheet mein mention honge.
4.1.5 Industry Internship
Students ko curriculum ke hisaab se summer vacation ke dauraan kisi relevant industry mein training karni hogi. Research organizations aur academic institutions mein bhi internship karne ki permission hai, par uske liye Head of Department ki approval leni hogi.
4.1.6 Industrial Visit
Second year se lekar har saal ek industrial visit compulsory hoga. Iska arrangement Head of Department karega.
4.2 Course Credits Assignment
Lecture period (1 week) = 1 credit
Tutorial period (1 week) = 1 credit
2-3 lab periods = 1 credit, aur 4 lab periods = 2 credits
Seminar/project work (2 periods per week) = 1 credit
Industrial training (2 weeks ya 80 hours per semester) = 1 credit
4.3 Course Blend
Har semester ka curriculum lecture courses, lab courses aur lab-integrated theory courses ka blend hoga.
4.5 Instruction Medium
Instruction, examination aur project report English mein honge, except language-specific courses.
5.0 DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME
5.1 Programme Duration
B.Tech. programme ka completion 8 semesters (ya lateral entry students ke liye 6 semesters) mein expected hai, par maximum duration 14 semesters (ya lateral entry students ke liye 12 semesters) tak ho sakta hai.
5.2 Semester Duration
Ek semester minimum 90 working days ka hoga, jo examinations ke din bhi include karega.
5.3 Maximum Duration
Break of study ko include karte hue programme ki maximum duration clause 5.1 ke according maintain karni hogi.
6.0 REGISTRATION AND ENROLLMENT
6.1 Course Registration
First semester ke students admission ke time courses register karenge. Baaki semesters ke liye registration previous semester ke last working day ke ek week pehle tak karni hogi.
6.2 Course Change
Course change karne ki permission course ke shuru hone ke 10 working days ke andar Dean (Academic Affairs) ki approval se milegi.
6.3 Course Withdrawal
Student genuine reasons ke basis par first continuous assessment test ke pehle course withdraw kar sakta hai. Iske liye Dean (Academic Affairs) ki approval chahiye.
7.0 BREAK OF STUDY FROM PROGRAMME
7.1 Break of Study Reasons
Dean (Academic Affairs) ki approval ke saath student 2 semesters ka break le sakta hai, agar:
Medical ya valid grounds ho.
Attendance ke kami ke karan ‘I’ grade diya gaya ho.
Indiscipline ke wajah se debarred ho.
7.2 Duration Restriction
Programme completion ki maximum duration clause 5.1 ke under hi honi chahiye.
7.3 Semester Rejoining
Break lene ke baad student next academic year mein corresponding semester (odd/even) join kar sakta hai.
7.4 Activity Restriction
Break ke dauraan student regular classes ya Institution ke activities mein participate nahi kar sakta, par arrear examinations ke liye enroll kar sakta hai.
8.0 CLASS ADVISOR AND FACULTY ADVISOR
8.1 Class Advisor
Har class ke liye ek faculty member ko Head of Department dwara nominate kiya jayega, jo academic, curricular aur co-curricular records maintain karega. First year ke liye class advisors first year coordinator nominate karega.
8.2 Faculty Advisor
Head of Department 20 students ke group ke liye ek faculty member ko faculty advisor appoint karega jo unhe electives aur academic matters mein guide karega.
9.0 COURSE COMMITTEE
Common theory courses ke liye “Course Committee” banegi jo question papers aur evaluation scheme ko standardize karegi.
10.0 CLASS COMMITTEE
Branch aur semester-wise Class Committee banegi jo students aur faculty ke beech feedback aur syllabus improvement ke liye kaam karegi. Ye committee semester ke dauraan kam se kam teen baar milegi.
Ye regulations B.Tech. Programmes ke rules aur guidelines ke baare me hain. Main points ko simplify karke explain karta hoon:
11. CREDIT LIMIT FOR ENROLLMENT & MOVEMENT TO HIGHER SEMESTER
Maximum Credits: Ek semester me maximum 32 credits enroll kar sakte ho, jo redo/predo courses include karte hain.
7th Semester ke liye Minimum Credits: 60 credits (lateral entry students ke liye 40 credits) hone chahiye.

Attendance Criteria: Minimum 75% attendance zaroori hai. Agar nahi hua toh “I” grade milega.
Condonation: Agar attendance 65%-75% hai (medical ya approved events ki wajah se), toh documents submit karne par condonation mil sakti hai.
Degree tab milegi jab:
Required credits complete kiye ho.
Professional development activity poori ho.
Koi dues aur disciplinary action pending na ho.
